Trimaran

Introducing the new 1500TRi, the first member of the new Tracer Series of performance cruising trimarans from Schionning Designs. Designed to blend the performance of a trimaran with liveable interior accommodation and create a stable, aesthetically-pleasing cruising platform that can take you anywhere in the world.

The 1500TRi exterior is a little different to many of the standard trimaran designs we've become accustomed to.
Large spacious cockpit areas are located on either side of the cabin, with the helm stations positioned wide on the aft beam giving excellent visibility forward, as well as clear sight of sails and telltales. Lines run aft to the helms with winches and sail controls mounted close by for ease of operation.
The large cockpit areas will be fantastic for swimming, sunbathing, storing dinghies & equipment plus just a great spot while underway.

A 19 metre mast can be rotating carbon or a standard alloy option, but with the performance aspect of this design carbon is recommended. She has fixed rudders on the floats, however this will not be an issue and she will still be able to beach easily. Kick-up rudders are an option if desired and depending on your intended use for the boat. A single 30-40HP diesel is the recommended motor option.

The Schionning Designs Team is excited to announce a new high performance racing design, the sleek and stealthy Arrow 1200 Sport.

This design concept takes the Arrow's purist values one step further; shedding another skin to become a real serpent of the seas. We have drawn from the same "back to the future" low cost concept, only this time focusing on need and speed. Like the original Arrow, we use the latest cutting edge technologies used in light kit panel building systems to make it quick and easy to build.

Jeff has designed the Arrow Sport to be all the room you need for a 4 man racing crew. Accommodation is nicely balanced with two separate aft cabins with big queen bunks and plenty of space with privacy. Two single cabins lay latrally, tucked under the forward deck incase you need extra hands for a fast ocean crossing. With two separate head and showers there's enough amenities to keep your crew well kempt.

The salloon is situated on the bridgedeck with sitting headroom. A nav station is set half-way down the port stairs and facing forwards, big enough for all your charts, certainly big enough for your tablet or laptop. To the starboard, we have a galley down for stable cooking of your stable meals. You'll be going fast, so you want the cook to be able to stand steady and down in the hulls is the best place for that.

The Troublemaker 9500 is designed to compete with the new 30 to 32 foot mono revolution that is happening at present, but with some very unique features that make her stand out from the crowd.

Once you are used to the benefits enjoyed by Multihulls such as speed, shallow draft plus the ability to dry out on secluded beaches in the Islands, a (normal) mono just does not cut it. OK you still have the heeling but here we are aiming for a very stiff boat keeping the heel angles as low as possible.

The un-stayed carbon masts help tremendously, first the low weight aloft plus having two masts keeps the centre of effort low, reducing the lever arm. The two masts are light making it easy for one person to lower them and the support tubes carry the boom gooseneck allowing the boom and sails to remain in place when packing up.

She has the huge advantage of trail-ability with almost half the weight of her competitors. Power to weight ratios are high making her very fast, she can be beached anywhere or walked into any shallow area drawing only 200mm with keel and rudders lifted, accommodation is equal to or better than her competitors so she’s hard to go past in this size range. And did I tell you, you can build her yourself very easily from a pre-cut high tech composite kit for half the price or better.
